Love Ballad

Do you remember that day
We first met.
It was plain and simple
Our little conversation.
But then you left
Just walked out the door.

One day you came back
I said hello.
You looked at me and smiled
I still remember that smile.
We became closer friends
I secretly liked you.

After awhile we’d just sit there
I was shy.
There was nothing but silence
My heart was racing.
You told me that you liked me
But much more than just a friend.

I said no
You felt horrible.
I told you I was a bitch
You denied it.
He asked me if I liked him
I said yes but I didn’t want to ruin our friendship.

You told me don’t worry
But I did.
We didn’t talk for a few days
I felt weird.
I apologized to you
You forgave me.

I told you I wanted to try things out
You said yes in an instant.
We sit here together
I hope it will last forever.
then you ask me

“Will you marry me?”
