He struggles up the mountainside,
Climbs up the stubborn rocks.
The last time, the way he cried,
Made birds fly away in flocks.

He reaches the top,
Looks out into the night.
Walks to the edge and stops,
Lifts his nose to the moonlight.

He takes a deep breath,
And howls his lovely song.
The song of life, the song of death,
The song that makes us strong.
